DESCRIPTION:Are you new to grant writing and want to learn more about the opportunities? Working on a grant and want another set of eyes to review your potential submission? Need help researching potential grants for your organization? John Boner Neighborhood Centers is offering grant “office hours” with our Director of Grants\, Christiana Long. \nAs Director of Grants\, Christiana oversees and manages all of John Boner Neighborhood Centers’ grant funding efforts by exploring funding from state and federal agencies\, public corporations\, private foundations\, and individuals. Her responsibilities include leading the organization’s funding strategy and drafting grant proposals by developing narrative\, assisting in budget creation and program design\, logic models\, and submission. To date\, Christiana has helped secure more than $25.4 million in funding for for the organization. \nIf you are new to grants\, a young nonprofit organization\, or an individual looking to learn about grants – feel free to schedule a time to connect with Christiana. \nOffice Hours will include: \n\nOverall introduction to grants\nNarrative construction\, do’s and don’ts\nGrant research and overview of grant types available\nHow to identify a grant opportunity is right for you or your organization\nReal-time feedback on drafted grant prior to submission\nSearching for data and supporting research\, how these elements can strengthen a grant proposal\nSubmitting a proposal to a funder\nProgram development and planning support\n\nDuring office hours Christiana cannot write or edit your grant application\, prepare supporting materials or provide outside grant writing services. \nOffice hours are available the week of April 17 –  21\, 2023. SUMMARY:Tito's Block to Block Volunteer Event
DESCRIPTION:Our friends with Growing Places Indy are teaming up with Tito’s to host a volunteer day to restore our garden at our senior housing complex\, New Life Manor. \nThe garden was managed by a long-time resident\, who passed away at 101 years old. This garden provides fresh produce to the seniors living at New Life Manor. The community garden is in the middle of a food desert\, with the only access to food within walking distance being a Burger King. The community garden allows us to provide produce for the community and needed green space for people\, specifically the seniors\, to gather. \nSpend the day with us\, cleaning up the garden and planting native plants and flowers.
